Corridor Intelligence

The Corridor Files

The Parliamentary Guide tells you who holds office. The Corridor Files tells you who holds power.

An ongoing inventory of the people who actually run Canadian politics — campaign managers, party officials, pollsters, ministerial political staff, and the lobbying revolving door — who they answer to, and how they are connected. Legislator biographies have been done for 160 years. Nobody maps the operative class. That is the layer The Corridor Files documents, one sourced record at a time.

It starts in Ottawa with the federal parties. It is built from day one to extend to every party, every provincial capital, and — in time — Washington, London and Paris.

I served in Canada's Prime Minister's Office during the 2008 financial crisis, and as Chief of Staff in the Senate during the 2020 pandemic. I have watched this class of people work from inside the rooms. This inventory is built the way briefings are built: sourced, structured, and correctable. — Joseph Soares

Every record is a structured file with fixed fields and a source URL on every claim — the registry is built to be exported, graphed, and indexed, not just read.

Methodology

Published sources only. No name appears without a citation to reporting, a public registry, or an official record. Roles and relationships, not character — character claims appear only as attributed quotes from published sources. Directors and above: we cover senior operatives and anyone who has publicly placed themselves in a political fight; junior staff are not public figures and are not listed. Non-partisan in construction: the record opens with the Conservative Party because that is where the succession fight is today — party affiliation is recorded as a fact, never held as a position. Private citizens are not covered. The Corridor Files documents public actors in public life — the people who run campaigns, staff leaders, and shape decisions — and no one else.

Corrections

Accuracy is what this record stands on. If any entry misstates a role, a date, or a relationship, write to info@josephsoares.com with a link to a published source. Verified corrections are applied to the record and noted on the affected edition within 72 hours. Records carry a last verified date; anything older than six months is re-checked before republication.

Roadmap — stated honestly

Today: Ottawa — the Conservative inventory (Edition 001), with first Liberal and NDP records in the registry. Next: full Liberal and NDP editions, then the provincial capitals, beginning with Quebec City and Toronto. Later: Washington, London, Paris. Coverage will be claimed only when it exists.
