About Joseph
Supporting leaders and organizations through complexity with clarity and strategic vision.
After more than 30 years at the intersection of public service, business, and strategy, Joseph Soares believes institutions rise and fall on the strength of their leadership—and their clarity.
As a former advisor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper during the 2008 global financial crisis, Joseph worked inside the rooms where policy met pressure. From the Privy Council Office to Transport Canada and the Senate, he contributed to national decisions during moments of high consequence.
Joseph’s journey extends beyond the public sector. He has spent years in transportation, logistics, and global trade—industries where timing, precision, and judgment shape outcomes daily. Whether working on policy frameworks or commodity flows, Joseph has seen how leadership either creates momentum—or loses control of it.
Today, he supports leaders and organizations facing complexity and upheaval, offering not only tools and strategies, but above all, an innovative perspective essential for anticipating and adapting to new challenges.
A member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, an MBA in Business Administration, and a PMP certification in project management.
In 2022, Joseph was the recipient of the Grand Diplômé – Volet Carrière award from the Université du Québec en Outaouais, recognizing a career dedicated to service, strategic impact, and leadership excellence.
A Personal Note
“I’ve seen leadership from every angle—across ministries, markets, and moments of crisis. What stays with me isn’t the pressure, but the clarity that emerges when people step up. I believe leadership isn’t just about being in charge. It’s about being grounded, being useful, and having the courage to act when it matters most. I care deeply about Canada’s role in the world, the future of our institutions, and the people who serve within them. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: clarity is a leadership act. Let’s build more of it—together.”
